Exterior Design

GAC Trumpchi M8 continues the brand’s latest design language, the overall shape of the overall expansion of the atmosphere. The front face adopts the design concept officially known as “Yipin Kirin”, with a large front grille and a delicate scale-type center mesh, inspired by the Kirin’s blade, and the layout of the center mesh is “five verticals and seven horizontals”, which is skillfully integrated into the traditional auspicious symbolism of “Five Fortunes, Seven Fortunes”.

Both sides are equipped with highly recognizable “7” shaped headlamps, and the chrome trim running under the front end further enhances the sense of luxury and brightness of the front face. Especially noteworthy is that the new car is equipped with a LiDAR module in the front position of the roof, providing hardware support for intelligent driving.

The side design adopts the flat and straight shape common to MPV models, which is conducive to maximizing the utilization rate of space inside the car.The B, C and D columns all adopt a hidden design, creating a very modern floating roof effect. In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with 18-inch dense-spoke wheels, electric side sliding doors and silver side skirts and other practical features as standard.

The rear part of the car also adopts the 7-shaped taillight design, which echoes the front face, and the multi-layer longitudinal stripe modeling on both sides adds a sense of design and recognition.

In terms of dimensions, the GAC Trumpchi M8 has a length, width and height of 5217/1893/1823 millimeters respectively, and a wheelbase of 3070 millimeters, which fully demonstrates the spacious proportions of a medium-to-large MPV.

Interior Design

Inside the car, the interior design of GAC Trumpchi M8 is mainly simple and functional, and at the same time, it also has a sense of luxury. The driver’s area is equipped with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a two-tone, two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, with a 15.6-inch touchscreen in the center of the center console and Huawei’s HarmonySpace system.

The center console eliminates the traditional mechanical gear knob and replaces it with a simpler electronic pocket gear design, freeing up more operating space. In terms of material selection, the sides of the center console are wrapped in high-quality leather, the center panel in front of the passenger side is made of original wood, the door panels are embellished with metallic embroidery threads, and the roof is made of soft faux-suede, which creates a high-class and comfortable atmosphere.

The GAC Trumpchi M8 features a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout with dual zero-gravity seats in the second row that support 16-way full power memory adjustment, 270-degree wrap-around heating and ventilation, and dual 5-inch control panels built into the armrests, as well as a 180-degree folding small tabletop and power legrests. Luxury and comfort features are abundant, including 24-point full-body SPA massage system, graphene heat therapy neck pillows, 7-zone 270-degree heating function, on-board refrigerator, and a 17.3-inch rear entertainment screen, bringing passengers the same privileged enjoyment as an airline business class.

Powertrain

The GAC Trumpchi M8 is powered by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The engine has a maximum power of 140 kW, while the electric motor has a maximum power of 160 kW, and is mated with a 2-speed DHT gearbox, providing abundant and smooth power output.

The battery system adopts the Ningde Times Snapdragon Hybrid 3C battery with a capacity of 44.5 kWh and a pure electric range of up to 248 kilometers under CLTC conditions. Charging performance is excellent, from 30% to 80% charge in just 15 minutes, and also supports external discharge function, which can power external electrical equipment, further enhancing the convenience of car life.
