Exterior Design

In terms of exterior design, the eighth-generation Camry offers two styling options: a luxury version and a sport version. Both styles originate from Toyota’s latest “Keen Look” design language. The luxury version features a large trapezoidal horizontal grille, a streamlined body, a lower waistline, and an extended roofline that increases rear headroom.

The sport version features a three-layer grille and, for the first time, a two-tone body and an all-black interior design. The rear features dual exhaust pipes on each side. Additionally, the hybrid version is based on the luxury version, distinguished by light blue front and rear lights.

The hybrid version adds a sport styling option, maintaining the overall design of the current gasoline-powered sport version, with only subtle details revealing its hybrid identity. Specifically, the front adopts an X-shaped design, with a black mesh grille and a blue accent on the central Toyota logo, creating a striking visual effect.

Interior
The eighth-generation Camry’s interior won a Wards 2018 10 Best Interiors award. The interior of the eighth-generation Camry has undergone significant changes. The interiors of the three models are identical, differing only in the materials used for the trim panels above the glove box and near the gear lever. The interior features an asymmetrical design, with the center console exhibiting a Y-shaped curve. High-grade materials are used for the soft-touch surfaces and metal trim panels. For the first time, the instrument panel and console trim panels utilize a three-dimensional surface finishing process (TOM), creating a visually three-dimensional effect. The eighth-generation Camry’s new seats feature a sculpted, sporty design, using new springs and high-density, high-damping polyurethane material for the seat cushions.

Notably, the eighth-generation Camry features Toyota’s first three-screen interconnection system in a domestic model. A 10-inch color head-up display (HUD), an 8-inch/9-inch central touchscreen, and a 7-inch instrument cluster LCD screen can be linked to provide comprehensive high-definition information. The HUD displays traffic information directly in front of the windshield, allowing the driver to access information without looking down.

The physical buttons on the edges have been replaced with touch buttons. The UI design of the in-vehicle multimedia system has also been upgraded, and it now includes the Gaode navigation system. Furthermore, the central LCD screen in the instrument cluster has been updated to display tire pressure, improving driving safety.
